PSI is the Imperial reading most UK motorists still see on garage hoses. For the Volvo ES90 the catalogue row is 32-35 psi front and 32-35 psi rear. Size estimates on this page include 245/40R18, 215/50R17 and 215/55R16 — interpolated from the catalogue midpoint, not a second factory sticker. Keep side-to-side spread inside about 2 psi so the all-wheel drive hardware is not working on a radius mismatch.

If the Volvo sticker is painted over, the handbook is next. This website is a map, not a replacement VIN label.

Estimated pressure by tyre size (245/40R18 and others)

245/40R18 is the first planning size here. 215/55R16 is usually the plus-size or LT step. Keep load index at or above original equipment.

How to set the ES90

  1. Measure before the school run, not after the M25.
  2. Write LF / RF / RR / RL. Do not keep ES90 numbers in your head.
  3. Add air in short bursts toward 34 psi (2.31 bar) front and 34 psi rear.
  4. If one corner is 4 psi down, hunt for a nail before you blame the weather.
  5. Log date, ambient temperature and the four readings.

Load notes

Load moves the rear of a passenger car first. If the factory placard already has a “laden” column, use that instead of these sketches.

Temperature drift

Roughly 1 psi per 5–6 °C. The table uses 34 psi as a 20 °C baseline for this ES90.

Volvo notes

Volvo AWD crossovers should stay even side-to-side. Winter wheels still follow the same placard unless a second sticker was issued.

Spare and inflator kit

A matching full-size spare on the Volvo ES90 usually follows the higher axle (often the rear, near 32-35 psi). A space-saver is commonly 60 psi / 4.1 bar — read that tyre’s own sidewall. An inflator kit is not a spare; check the sealant date.

If the Volvo sticker and this page disagree, the sticker wins.

Questions about this ES90

Should I bleed pressure after a motorway run?

No. Heat raises the gauge. Set cold only. Bleeding a hot tyre leaves it low the next morning.

Front versus rear on the Volvo ES90?

This row is 32-35 F / 32-35 R. Even when they match, a laden rear can justify a higher number if the sticker prints one.

What PSI if I plus-size toward 215/55R16?

Keep load index at or above OEM. Low-profile sizes usually stay at or slightly above the placard. Use 245/40R18, 215/50R17 and 215/55R16 as a planning band.

What tyre pressure should a Volvo ES90 use?

Catalogue reference is 32-35 psi front and 32-35 psi rear (2.2-2.4 / 2.2-2.4 bar), cold. Confirm on the door-pillar placard.

What is that in bar and kPa for the ES90?

Mid-points are about 2.31 bar (231 kPa) front and 2.31 bar (231 kPa) rear.
