32-35 psi F · 32-35 psi R · 2.2-2.4 / 2.2-2.4 bar · 231/231 kPa

A front-wheel drive Volkswagen CC still wants even corners. 2.2-2.4 vs 2.2-2.4 is an axle split, not a left-right split. Under-inflation cooks the shoulders of a CC; over-inflation wears the centre rib and bangs every cat’s eye.

Bar, PSI and kPa

Bar-led conversions around the Volkswagen CC. 2.2-2.4 bar is not “32-35 divided by ten”.

Volkswagen CC placard versus sidewall

If the Volkswagen sticker is painted over, the handbook is next. This website is a map, not a replacement VIN label.

Estimated pressure by tyre size (205/55R16 and others)

If your Volkswagen CC no longer wears the OEM diameter, start at the row nearest 205/55R16 or 195/65R15 and confirm with the tyre maker’s load table.

Load notes

Load moves the rear of a passenger car first. If the factory placard already has a “laden” column, use that instead of these sketches.

How to set the CC

  1. Measure before the school run, not after the M25.
  2. Write LF / RF / RR / RL. Do not keep CC numbers in your head.
  3. Add air in short bursts toward 34 psi (2.31 bar) front and 34 psi rear.
  4. If one corner is 4 psi down, hunt for a nail before you blame the weather.
  5. Log date, ambient temperature and the four readings.

Temperature drift

Roughly 1 psi per 5–6 °C. The table uses 34 psi as a 20 °C baseline for this CC.

Volkswagen notes

VW usually prints bar first (2.3, 2.5). Convert carefully: 2.3 bar is about 33 psi, not 23. Golf, Passat and Tiguan stickers are not interchangeable.

Spare and inflator kit

A matching full-size spare on the Volkswagen CC usually follows the higher axle (often the rear, near 32-35 psi). A space-saver is commonly 60 psi / 4.1 bar — read that tyre’s own sidewall. An inflator kit is not a spare; check the sealant date.

Keep the Volkswagen CC on the printed band; use 205/55R16 and 225/40R18 only as a map for non-OEM wheels.

Questions about this CC

What PSI if I plus-size toward 225/40R18?

Keep load index at or above OEM. Low-profile sizes usually stay at or slightly above the placard. Use 205/55R16, 195/65R15 and 225/40R18 as a planning band.

What is that in bar and kPa for the CC?

Mid-points are about 2.31 bar (231 kPa) front and 2.31 bar (231 kPa) rear.

Is the sidewall number correct on a Volkswagen CC?

No. Sidewall PSI is a maximum. The CC placard is the operating target, near 32-35/32-35 psi.

What tyre pressure should a Volkswagen CC use?

Catalogue reference is 32-35 psi front and 32-35 psi rear (2.2-2.4 / 2.2-2.4 bar), cold. Confirm on the door-pillar placard.

When does TPMS warn on a Volkswagen CC?

Direct TPMS typically flags about 25% below placard — near 25 psi on this row. Fill to the sticker, not to the lamp.
