European and UK handbooks usually quote bar. The HUMMER H3 catalogue is 2.2-2.4 bar front and 2.2-2.4 bar rear (midpoint 2.31 / 2.31). Under-inflation cooks the shoulders of a H3; over-inflation wears the centre rib and bangs every cat’s eye.

Bar, PSI and kPa

Bar-led conversions around the HUMMER H3. 2.2-2.4 bar is not “32-35 divided by ten”.

HUMMER H3 placard versus sidewall

If the HUMMER sticker is painted over, the handbook is next. This website is a map, not a replacement VIN label.

Estimated pressure by tyre size (205/60R16 and others)

If your HUMMER H3 no longer wears the OEM diameter, start at the row nearest 205/60R16 or 245/40R18 and confirm with the tyre maker’s load table.

Load notes

Load moves the rear of a passenger car first. If the factory placard already has a “laden” column, use that instead of these sketches.

How to set the H3

  1. Park the HUMMER H3 for at least three hours (cold tyres).
  2. Use a calibrated gauge, not the only meter on a forecourt hose.
  3. Set the placard for that axle — about 32-35 psi / 2.2-2.4 bar front and 32-35 psi / 2.2-2.4 bar rear on this catalogue row.
  4. Recheck all four. A 2 psi miss on a front-wheel drive H3 is enough to feel a pull.
  5. Refit valve caps and reset TPMS if the handbook asks for a relearn.

Temperature drift

Roughly 1 psi per 5–6 °C. The table uses 34 psi as a 20 °C baseline for this H3.

HUMMER notes

No special HUMMER exception: the H3 uses the door-pillar placard. Size estimates on this page only help if you have left the original load index behind.

Spare and inflator kit

A matching full-size spare on the HUMMER H3 usually follows the higher axle (often the rear, near 32-35 psi). A space-saver is commonly 60 psi / 4.1 bar — read that tyre’s own sidewall. An inflator kit is not a spare; check the sealant date.

Keep the HUMMER H3 on the printed band; use 205/60R16 and 195/65R15 only as a map for non-OEM wheels.

Questions about this H3

Should I bleed pressure after a motorway run?

No. Heat raises the gauge. Set cold only. Bleeding a hot tyre leaves it low the next morning.

What PSI if I plus-size toward 195/65R15?

Keep load index at or above OEM. Low-profile sizes usually stay at or slightly above the placard. Use 205/60R16, 245/40R18 and 195/65R15 as a planning band.

What is that in bar and kPa for the H3?

Mid-points are about 2.31 bar (231 kPa) front and 2.31 bar (231 kPa) rear.

Front versus rear on the HUMMER H3?

This row is 32-35 F / 32-35 R. Even when they match, a laden rear can justify a higher number if the sticker prints one.

What tyre pressure should a HUMMER H3 use?

Catalogue reference is 32-35 psi front and 32-35 psi rear (2.2-2.4 / 2.2-2.4 bar), cold. Confirm on the door-pillar placard.
