Electric-vehicle tyre pressure

A battery pack adds mass. EV makers often spec a slightly higher pressure than a similar-size petrol car, and they sometimes print different numbers for 18-, 19- and 20-inch options.

Low-rolling-resistance compounds already ride firmly. Dropping pressure to chase comfort costs range and cooks the shoulders.

Torque at launch is instant. A low rear tyre on a dual-motor car will spin or pull before a comparable petrol car would. Keep corners even within 1–2 psi.

Many EVs hide a compressor kit instead of a spare. Check the sealant expiry when you check pressures.

Winter wheels still follow the vehicle placard unless a second sticker came with the wheel set.
